I have to leave DA for a while for three main reasons: first and foremost, school. I need to devote all the time I have to two places, and one is school.
The other is my novel. I'm not even at 25k yet, and I don't wanna lose this year even though the forces of nature seem to be against me.
And speaking of the forces of nature... I have a sudden, complete and completely unexplained FAILURE of my left hand. On Sunday night I was just sitting at the computer, minding my own and updating Twitter--one minute everything is fine, and the next--BAM! Can't type.
So I thought "hmm, okay--time to stop typing, wrap up my hand and sleep this off. It'll be fine by tomorrow morning."
WRONG.
It's been two days now. On Sunday it was really bad--I could hardly move my hand at all. I can still move all my fingers, as I could before, but I can't bend my wrist back or inward (towards my thumb joint) at all. I also can't put weight on that hand, and I have a hard time grasping things like doorknobs and container lids with my left hand, without entering a world of pain. (Oddly enough, I can best my wrist forward as far as I want, and that doesn't affect it.) I've kept it wrapped up as often as possible.
*whimper*
As I said on Twitter, if this doesn't magically disappear by Thanksgiving Break, I might have to tell someone about it. (And by "someone", I mean "a doctor".) I mean, I've had some slight carpal tunnel stuff before, but nothing quite like this. I think it just hurts really badly now because I'm in the middle of typing a paper (for the third time this week), sooo yeah
So I need a break because I have to work on my novel and my papers, and I am in general physical (and a little bit of mental) disrepair right now. So I'll see you later, DA. I hope to be back soon, and if I'm not back during Thanksgiving Break, then... I dunno. Assume that something bad happened.
Anyone who sees me at school in real life, I expect to get my hug on Thursday. ...I kinda need it. D:
And oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention: my mom has sent out almost as many job applications as there are jobs in the city, it seems. It would appear as though--contrary to what I said in my last journal--I won't get the car, and nobody will have to suck anything up, except me. You see, even if I did have my license, we only have two cars--and both of my parents would each need the car for work, which trumps my need to have the car for school.
The only solution that has been offered so far is that my dad drop me off on his way to work. I personally think this solution is absolute shit, for three reasons: number one is that my school seems awfully out of his way on his morning commute. Number two, I have to be in the car with my dad every morning, and he's less than optimistic about going to work in the morning. And number three--probably the most important reason to me personally--I'll have to wake up at, like, 5:30am... like I did in high school.
That. Will. SUCK.
That's much worse than having to mope around campus in the wee hours of the morning--I can actually live with that, so long as I have breakfast. I like hanging around my school. But having to wake up at 5:30 in the morning to leave the house by 7:00 or so... yikes.
I have to stop typing now and go to sleep before my wrist decides to snap in half. Good night.

Most people are other people.
Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions just a quotation.
