Description

UGH, this drawing took my life force and made it into a strawberry milkshake and drank it. :x

...Um, too specific? ^^; Heh, whatever *shoves it into *Jazzcatnya's contest* THERE.

Alright, so...alright, to increase my chances of winning—no, I take that back, I said that I know this won't win—to increase my chances of placing, I'm gonna do the two things I do best: tell it like it is, and tell it in writing.

Okay, so this drawing...well, this is Mizumoto Kumika, and even though she isn't my favorite character that I've created, I've had a lot of fun with her. She's a very happy character, and she owns a boat and goes fishing a lot, which are two things I've always wanted to do.

I didn't realize this until a little while ago, but it dawned on me that this drawing does have a meaning—multiple meanings, in fact, and I think that they're very important. So here's what I think it is:

I think the meaning of this drawing is that it's always good to be able to be entertained by the small things in life. Here, Kumika is being entertained by looking down off the edge of the pier, and her cat is staring at the fish on the fishing rod's bottom-rig. (And, it never hurts to take a moment to be alone, or with your favorite inhuman companion, in the place(s) you love.)

Basically what this picture means to me is that it's great to know a place to sit back and enjoy life, to stop and stare at the clouds, and to let your mind wander past the point of simply "being inspired". It's good to find a situation, every once in a while, that makes you really think, but at the same time lets you take a break from thinking. Create your own world inside your mind and go get lost in it.

...Um, so there you have it. ^^; I'm not even gonna tell you that this drawing should make you feel relaxed, because I think that would be insulting to your sensibilities, but...I do hope you feel that way. :aww:

I certainly didn't, because all I saw were the mistakes after the critters attacked! And now it'll get worse—I've never shaded any serious clouds before, okay? Go easy on the clouds. And the girl. And everything else.

So the fate of this drawing is sealed: it will remain in Jazz's contest and in my art book, and will probably not be acknowledged again for quite some time, if ever. But it was fun while it lasted, even if the fun only lasted a day or two. :D Cheers.

*walks away slowly, smiling a small and satisfied smile*
