My creative energy is back!
And it's two weeks before final exams start!
...FUCK YOU, creative energy!
Anyway, I'm writing this story and it's two parts long and oh my god it's like the greatest thing I have ever written eeeveeeerrrr
It's about two guys. *waits for the homophobes to leave* Okay, moving on.
It's gonna be a slice-of-life story, maybe a series of vignettes or short stories or whatever the hell you call them, and so far it's just about these two guys, Thomas and... well, the other one's name is a little less set in stone--for now his name is Dominic, but I might change it, probably to Matthew or Derek--and these characters are basically
writing themselves. It's
awesome.
Seriously, this story is AMAZING--and I actually don't feel like I'm bragging by saying that, because I truly feel like the story is writing itself and I'm just along for the ride, there to put the story on paper and name the characters, and not much else.
They're gonna have a friend named Annis (named after a character from a Hilari Bell novel, although I looked it up and it is actually a name occasionally given to people in the US, so it's not a Mary Sue name), or An/Ann/Anne for short (haven't decided on the spelling yet). I was considering making her asexual, but I don't want her to be an author insert. She's gonna be Thom's neighbor (probably, or maybe just a friend), and I expected her to be more like an ally--a friend to them both, and everyone serving as a soft place for the others to fall when the world treats them like shit.
That is, if it does.
...I'm kidding, of course, because NO DUH the world is gonna treat them like shit! You should have expected that from my stories by now! The world ALWAYS treats the characters like shit--it's a requirement! Hell, the part of the story I'm working on right now starts with Thom getting mugged and beaten to a pulp. IT'S JUST HOW I ROLL.
(Don't worry, things get better for him later.
)
I might even give Annis a separate side-story, because if Annis were a real person, they'd have their own stories to tell. If ALL story characters were real, they would have a story to tell--or at least that's the way it SHOULD be--it might not be the case if the character is poorly-written, but I'm trying to make these characters as real and believable as possible. I'm trying to make these characters like someone you might meet on the street--you see their face, you might see their children or the car they drive or what's in their cart at the grocery store, but they have a story--no matter how straightforward or mundane it may be, they've got one. The stories I seem to be best at writing are those that are about ordinary people, stories that offer a sneak-peek into these ordinary little lives, and leave it to the reader to determine where the extraordinary bits are.
Consequently, all my stories are BORING AS SHIT!
But not this one. This one's different.
Hopefully.
And YES, I will totally post the story if I get the chance to edit it for non-suckage. I might just post the first part in two parts, to see what people think about it (I don't know if I'm gonna advertise it on my Facebook page, just... because. I don't know if I want (most of) my real-life friends to see what I wrote--just
Sparklyshuichi42, probably!). I know it's unfair to promise such greatness and then not post anything, but let's be honest--it's probably not as great as it seems to me right now!
I will admit that it's more of the same, for now, so I guess just read through those Study HM-01 shorts I wrote a long time ago and, uh, I dunno, pretend one of the other characters is a guy. That ought to have you covered until I edit this story--or at least give it a name -__-
In the meantime, I've got tests to study for, bathrooms to clean and stories to write. G'BYE *leaps off*
